Dale Carnegie Public Speaking Program
Sharpen your public speaking skill with Dale Carnegie.
The Dale Carnegie public speaking program is a very exclusive self help program that enables people that are shy and otherwise fearful of speaking in front of a group of people to get over their inhibitions and speak in front of audiences. If you are shy or fearful of speaking in front of a group of people, this program will definitely assist you in getting over any inhibitions that you may have. This program was started out by Dale Carnegie back in the 1920's in an effort to help potential politicians, chief executive officers of companies and other managerial staff with various companies and institutions.
The program lasts for twelve (12) weeks. In the first session, the program director starts you out with a memory exercise that assists you in remembering everyone's name. They do this because it really is paramount in a business experience for an individual to remember a person's name after they are properly introduced and the program director will give the class helpful points on how to remember someone's name.
The program is broken down into two (2) different segments or themes: "Stop worrying and start living" and the "public speaking" program. Each attendant is given two (2) text books on the class subject matter and is required to read several chapters between each class session. Now to get you over any inhibitions that you have about speaking in front of a group of people, each class attendant is required to give two and sometimes three speeches a night of varying lengths and subject matter. Public speaking courses in a university may be similar but one does not have to deal with the stresses of a grade. Instead, at the end of every class session, everyone in the class votes on the person with the best speech. The person that is gives the best speech will win a prize. This concept seems so much less stressful than the environment of a course in a university.
By the end of this course, instead of shying away from speaking in front of a group, individuals will look for opportunities to get up and do presentations in their business environments.
